Career Center

The University of Minnesota Law School’s Career and Professional Development Center (CPDC) assists alumni and students in all aspects of career development. As an institution with an exceptional national reputation, the Law School is focused on helping graduates find positions with top law firms and law-related employers throughout the country. Our well-trained graduates work in all 50 states, Guam, Puerto Rico, and many other locations around the world.

A wide variety of local, regional, national and international law firms, corporations, public agencies and judicial clerkships meet students annually through CPDC-sponsored programs. Interviewing and networking events take place both on campus and off campus in cities such as New York, Chicago, Los Angeles and Washington, D.C. Students also participate in the Equal Justice Works Conference in Washington, D.C., and the Midwest Public Interest Law Career Conference in Chicago.

The Center offers career workshops and programs throughout the year and counsels alumni and students on establishing and meeting professional goals. The CPDC also continually updates CareerFiles, an online career services handbook.
