Business Law LL.M. ProgramThe Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul provide a vibrant business community that is home to numerous Fortune 500 companies, such as 3M, Best Buy, General Mills, Medtronic, Piper Jaffray, Target Corporation, UnitedHealth Group and U.S. Bancorp. Beginning in the fall of 2012, the University of Minnesota Law School expanded its prominent LL.M. program to provide foreign business lawyers with a rigorous business law experience, exposing them to a broad array of legal skills and knowledge crucial to the global practice of business law. Students enrolling in the Business Law LL.M. program are required to satisfy the Business Law Concentration requirements and write a scholarly paper on a business law topic. LL.M. business law students view the inner workings of resident multinational companies through on-site visits to corporate headquarters. These corporate experience visits, including 3M, Piper Jaffray and UnitedHealth Group this year, consist of informative presentations by company personnel, question and answer sessions, and a reception where Business Law LL.M. students can network with their U.S. business counterparts. The Office of International and Graduate Programs and the Career Center provide individual support to each Business Law LL.M. student in every step of their Law School experience, from application to graduation and beyond. |
