David F. Fisher

David F. Fisher joined the Law School as Executive Director of the Corporate Institute in May 2012, and is an adjunct professor of law and teaching specialist with the Law School. He is of counsel with Larkin Hoffman Daly & Lindgren, where he has specialized in business law, business organization, and corporate and board governance and has served clients as general counsel. Previously, he has held positions as general counsel, vice president for international, or business general manager with The Pillsbury Company, ADC Telecommunications, Inc., and G&K Services, Inc., and is founder and former chief executive officer of Internet Destination Sales System, Inc. Mr. Fisher has served as a member and vice chair of the Metropolitan Council of the Twin Cities Area, and as Minnesota Commissioner of Administration.
Since 2005 he has been a member, including terms as council chair and recruitment committee chair, of the Regents Candidate Advisory Council, which is charged with recruiting, screening, and recommending to the Minnesota state legislature candidates for election to the University of Minnesota Board of Regents. Mr. Fisher is board member and president of the National Association of Corporate Directors, Minnesota Regional Chapter, providing education, information and networking opportunities for members of business and nonprofit governing boards.
Among Mr. Fisher's areas of law, business and government expertise are corporate governance, compliance programs, executive compensation plans and arrangements, regulation fair disclosure, and board and committee composition, structures, charters, codes of ethics and conduct, and fiduciary duties. Mr. Fisher teaches at the Law School in areas of corporate law and practice, clinical studies, and leadership development.
