Outlaw, the Law School's GLBT organization, sponsored a discussion with Ken Sholes and Professor Embser-Herbert to highlight the efforts to lobby Congress to allow gays and lesbians to serve openly in the military.

The Law School welcomed eight of the most interesting and accomplished women in the local legal judicial community during the Women's Law Student Association's Annual Judicial Luncheon (WLSA).

The Student Employment & Labor Law Association (SELLA) and Entertainment and Sports Law Students Association (ESLSA) co-hosted a lecture by Clark C. Griffith, a sports law attorney.

In 2007, the Law School will begin an LL.M. program in Beijing for international lawyers. In partnership with CUPL, the Law School will become one of the first in the nation to open an LL.M. program abroad.

Michael Tonry, the Marvin J. Sonosky Professor of Law and Public Policy at the Law School, gave a reappointment lecture on "Constitutional Obsolescence & Penal Policy" on November 14th.

The Minnesota Association of Black Lawyers (MABL) awarded three law school students scholarships at its annual Foundation Scholarship Gala in Downtown Minneapolis.

Meredith McQuaid, Associate Dean for Administration and International Programs at the Law School, has been appointed Interim Associate Vice President and Dean of International Programs at the U of MN.
