M.S.P.L. Admissions

With a Master of Science in Patent Law from the University of Minnesota Law School, students with scientific and technical backgrounds leverage that knowledge to advance career opportunities in the booming area of patent law. This professional master’s degree program is aimed at students who want to work in cutting-edge technology, but don’t want to be in a lab. The Law School’s rich program combines traditional study of the complexity of patent law with project-based learning about business strategies and extensive practical hands-on training.

Students can enroll full-time and complete the program in one year or part-time and complete the program in approximately two years. Students who complete this master’s degree will possess the essential professional skills and knowledge to lead innovation in whichever area of patent law they pursue.
