James H. Binger Center 10th Anniversary Student Lunch

It was 10 years ago when a group of legal service providers, law firms, community organizations and Minnesota Law School Faculty came together to first envision the collaboration that has become the James H. Binger Center for New Americans. Over the past decade, the Center has flourished and become a leader in the immigrant and noncitizen rights movement.

A Package Deal: The Delicious Intersection of Food, Business, and Law

Minnesota is home to dozens of food companies large and small, as the headquarters for familiar Fortune 500 and private food and agriculture businesses. Along with the strong representation of established businesses comes a thriving startup market. These businesses need lawyers who know the industry. Minnesota Law's Corporate Institute has invited three outstanding lawyers practicing in the food law space to discuss their practices and the intersection of food, business, and law.

Centering Care in International Law with Catherine O'Rourke

Care, as a practice and a value, is a central organizing concept in feminist theorization of the social world. Yet care remains underdeveloped as a theme of feminist work in international law. Rather, feminist work in international law has centrally focused on harm, its gendered specificities and inadequate legal capture. This paper contends that care would be a productive focus of feminist work in international law and, moreover, that the time is right for this shift in focus for several reasons.

Regalia Pick-up for Class of 2024 

April 24, 2024, 10:00 am to 2:00 pm

Regalia orders for the Class of 2024 will be available for pick-up in Auerbach Commons from 10 am to 2 pm on Wednesday, April 24. If you cannot retrieve your items on April 24, they will be available afterwards through the Career Center.

Student Affairs will also be distributing graduates' name cards (the card handed to faculty presenters when you cross the stage) upon check-in. These are historically picked up at Northrop, on commencement day, but we are asking students to pick them up in advance and bring them with on Saturday, May 11. 

2024 Dean's Graduation Reception 

May 10, 2024, 3:00 to 5:00 pm

On Friday, May 10, Interim Dean William McGeveran invites the University of Minnesota Law School Class of 2024 and their guests to a graduation reception on the Plaza level of Mondale Hall from 3 to 5 pm (CT). 

Graduates will receive an email invitation in April to RSVP and register for their guests. Minnesota Law faculty and staff will also be invited. RSVP information is forthcoming.

Commencement 2024 

May 11, 2024, 10:00 am to 12:00 pm

The University of Minnesota Law School invites the Class of 2024 and their guests to our 136th Commencement Exercises on Saturday, May 11, 2024. 

The ceremony begins promptly at 10 am (central time) and lasts approximately 2 hours. 

Students should plan to arrive at Northrop by 8:30 am. Tickets are not necessary and there is no guest limit for graduates. The doors will open to the public at 9 am. Additional communications about commencement will be sent to the Class of 2024 throughout the spring semester.
