Prof. Painter Quoted on Ethics Laws and Obama Campaign's Use of First Family Photo

Professor Richard Painter was quoted extensively in an ABC News story on the President Obama campaign's use of an official photo of the President and his family in the Oval Office. Painter observed that although official government photographs are not intended for use by political campaigns, and the White House ordinarily does not allow official photographs to be used in this manner, it is unlikely that any ethics laws were broken.
