Prof. Painter Co-Authors Letter for New York Times on Filibuster Alternative

Professor Richard Painter co-authored a letter for the New York Times Sunday Dialogue section with Professor Michael Gerhardt of the University of North Carolina Law School. They addressed Senate filibusters of judicial nominees and suggested a compromise that would allow a substantial minority of senators to delay, but not permanently block, a Senate vote on a nomination submitted by the President. The letter was republished in the Sunday, March 4, 2012, paper with reader responses and a reply from Painter and Gerhardt.
