Minnesota Law Mourns the Passing of Former District Court Judge David Sullivan '66

Former 6th Judicial District Court Judge David P. Sullivan ’66  passed away on Sept. 6 at age 80.

Raised in Cloquet, Minnesota, Sullivan attended the University of Minnesota as an undergraduate and then went on to the Law School. He was a civil litigator for more than 30 years thirty years. His practice included family law, products liability and construction litigation. In 1988, he co-founded Sullivan & Setterlund.

Sullivan was appointed as the  District Court by Minnesota Governor Arne Carlson in 1996. He presided as a judge in the 6th Judicial District until his retirement in 2006. He then spent 14 years as a mediator/arbitrator through his own business, Sullivan ADR Services.
