Welcome to Minnesota Law! Can you tell us why you chose the University of Minnesota Law School?

Minnesota Law is a great school in a lovely city and of course, they accepted me!

What are you looking forward to the most about starting law school?

Having the opportunity to meet my future classmates.

Minnesota Law strives to embody a culture of equity, inclusiveness, and belonging in the classroom and in our community. What are some of the most important aspects of creating a culture where all students feel like they belong?

I think recognizing we all have our inherent biases and being aware of them in our interactions within the community.

Are you interested in practicing in a certain area of the law? Which one and why?

I don’t know and am looking forward to finding out!

Do you have a hobby or special interests? And/or what do you like to do during your free time?

I’ve been trying to read one book from each year of the 20th century, I’m currently in the roaring ‘20s! I also enjoy walking—from anywhere to anywhere—and watching TV and movies. I just watched The Bear which was incredibly stressful, in a fun way.

Who inspires you and why?

I’ve been lucky in my life to know some people who approach life with kindness and curiosity in all things. That’s the way I aspire to conduct myself so I think about them and tell myself that if they can do it, so can I!

What’s the most recent book or podcast you’ve read or listened to?

I’m reading American Prometheus: The Triumph and Tragedy of J. Robert Oppenheimer, by Kai Bird and Martin Sherwin.

Finally, what or who, in your opinion, makes a good lawyer?

Having a willingness to listen, adapt to the needs of the client, and probably passing the bar first, too.
