Minnesota Law Hosts The 2023 Robert A. Stein ’61 Lecture with Justice Amy Coney Barrett

The University of Minnesota Law School was pleased to host Amy Coney Barrett, Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States for the 2023 Robert A. Stein ’61 Lecture held on the East Bank of the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities campus at Northrop on Monday, October 16. Justice Barrett and Professor Robert Stein ’61 discussed a wide range of topics in front of a sold-out audience including law students, alumni, distinguished members of the Minnesota judiciary, the Board of Regents, and other prominent guests. University of Minnesota Interim President Jeffrey Ettinger welcomed the audience and Interim Dean William McGeveran, the Gray, Plant, Mooty, Mooty & Bennett Professor of Law, introduced Professor Stein and Justice Barrett. The conversation between Professor Stein and Justice Barrett included a discussion about her first experiences as a new justice on the Court, some of her memories of her time spent clerking for the late Justice Antonin Scalia, the potential of the Court adopting a code of ethics, and much more.

A full recap of the 2023 Robert A. Stein ’61 will be published in the Fall 2023 edition of Minnesota Law magazine.
