Prof. Fionnuala Ní Aoláin Delivers Remarks at Global Minnesota Conference: “Rebuilding Ukraine: A Future of Resilience and Renewal”

Professor Fionnuala Ní Aoláin was a panelist at a Humphrey School of Public Affairs conference presented by Global Minnesota titled, “Rebuilding Ukraine: A Future of Resilience and Renewal.” At the two-year anniversary of Russia’s invasion, the conference focused on the increasing attention toward long-term strategies for the country’s security, recovery, and rebuilding. As part of her remarks, Professor Ní Aoláin referenced her visit to Ukraine in December. “My visit gave me a really close view of the bravery of the Ukrainian people, but also the challenges that are faced day by day and I think the scale of the challenges require us to think about the day after,” she said. “It’s really hard to think about the day after when you are in the middle of war … but it is absolutely critical that we think about the day after.”
