Law School Mourns the Passing of Benefactor Sharon Sue Hale
Sharon Sue Hale, who with her husband James Hale ’65 generously supported the Law School for many years, passed away at the age of 80 on Oct. 24.
2L Frances Daniels Wins $5K Scholarship from AccessLex
AccessLex has awarded a $5,000 scholarship to Frances Daniels, 2L.
AccessLex is a nonprofit organization that seeks to further access, affordability, and the value of legal education through research, policy, advocacy, and direct member and student educational services.
Daniels, a frequent user of its resources, learned of her scholarship on Friday during a video conference call with AccessLex representatives and Assistant Dean of Students Erin Keyes ’00. (See video clip below.)
Minnesota Law Review Releases Season Three of Podcast, Experto Crede
The Minnesota Law Review just released the first episode of season three of its podcast, Experto Crede. Currently in volume 105, MLR is planning to publish one episode each for Issues 1-5, and also potentially an interview with one of the symposium speakers who will be published in Issue 6. Two of MLR’s online editors, 3Ls Cat Ulrich (lead editor) and Zach Wright, recently answered a few questions on the podcast and their plans for the current season.

Scholarship Support Allows Passion to Flourish: Camila Pacheco-Forés
Current 3L student Camila Pacheco-Forés came to Minnesota Law with an impressive resume including hands-on experience in migrant rights, immigration, and family law. She has completed a Fulbright fellowship in Mexico City and worked as a paralegal for a legal aid organization in Los Angeles. Her time at Minnesota Law has strengthened her desire to use her education to make a difference for underserved communities after graduation. Pacheco-Forés cites the scholarships she received as instrumental to pursuing a career based on passion instead of paycheck.

Retired Professor C. Robert Morris, Longtime Member of Law School Faculty, Dies
Professor C. Robert Morris, a member of the Minnesota Law faculty from 1964 to 2000, passed away last week.
Morris taught Torts, Property, Corporations and Business Law.
Morris earned an LL.B. degree from Yale University in 1951. After graduation, he entered the U.S. Air Force where he served as an assistant staff judge advocate. In 1953 he joined the faculty at Rutgers University Law School where he taught for 10 years before becoming a member of the Law School faculty in 1964.
